Debut solo album by Sami Yaffa “The Innermost Journey to Your Outermost Mind” out now (Vallila Music House)

Sami Yaffa has had a unique career as musician both in Finland and around the world. First in Finland in the Pelle Miljoona band and then as an original member in Hanoi Rocks, where Yaffa lived a career as an international rock musician with all spices.

Luckily there has been plenty of jobs after Hanoi as well: Joan Jett and The Blackhearts and the Hanoi Rocks role model the New York Dolls, a glam rock band, were Yaffa's bands for years before forming a band with his old Hanoi Rocks partner Michael Monroe in 2009.

This collaboration continues, but now Yaffa is also releasing music in his own name. The first solo album of Sami Yaffa's long career, The Innermost Journey To Your Outermost Mind, will be released on Friday September 3 by Vallila Music House in Finland and internationally by Cargo Records.

"I have been sitting here like a superfly on a hot rock waiting for the album to come out. The decision to make a solo album came pretty off the beat and it's been a long way to get to this point, but 'Better late than never' right!? I hope you enjoy the album as much as I enjoy making it!", Yaffa says.

"I've always digged bands like The Clash and Rolling Stones. They play country, funk, reggae and rock`n`roll, and still sound to themselves all the time. I wanted the same versatility for my own record. However, the bottom is in rock`n`roll. I'm not covering it up," Yaffa continues.

So far, two singles have been split from the album, The Last Time, released in the spring, and Down at St. Joe's, released a couple of weeks ago.

After the release of the album, Yaffa and his band will go on a tour in Finland covering 11 gigs. In addition to Yaffa the band includes Janne Haavisto (drums and backing vocals), Linde Lindström (guitar and backing vocals) and Burton (keyboards and backing vocals).
